Bug Naked was an aqua eyed, seal point, elf eared sphynx. She sailed with Captain Kate since she was 3 months old.

This well travelled feline had an EU passport which made touring the world that much easier! She preferred to be at sea, instead of on land.

She was a fearless, furless feline, beloved sidekick and saltiest sea cat, Bug was a sailors dream. A constant companion who joined every journey and made each adventure feel like home.

Bug’s name was inspired by my Mum’s nickname for me growing up: “Love Bug”.

Bug Naked was exactly that: a love bug, a cuddle bug, and a bed bug. Not only was her name fitting, but it was a fun play on words!

A fashionista at heart, Bug had well over a hundred outfits, uniforms and costumes! This means everyday was an opportunity to put her best paw forward!

  • When Bug goes outside she wears UV protective clothing and I make a conscious effort to keep her in the shade to minimize sun exposure because she doesn’t like sunscreen.

  • Bug was born on March 20, 2016.

  • Bug gets the zoomies around 2 am so I’ll give her half of her breakfast. She’ll come cuddle until 6 am when she gets the remainder of breakfast and then it’s back to sleep until 4pm. She’s very content to stay in the cabin but she’s also free to go to the bridge when she wants. Half of her dinner is served around 4:30 and the last half at 7 pm, with playtime in between. She gets a bath about every other day due to oil build-up on her skin, but she really enjoys baths to the point that she’ll get in the tub by herself and start pulling in her toys.

  • The highlight of Bug’s week is “Bug Trivia” with the guests. The winner gets a snuggle with Bug and her collector pins.

  • The ship is always chasing summer and since Bug is a nudist she prefers to be where it’s warm. Our cabin has floor to ceiling windows that she can bask in all day so I believe she prefers to be onboard the ship.

  • Bug has a mixture of wet and dry cat food. Her favorite treats are chicken snacks.
